RIM announced its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet yesterday, but didn’t say anything about how much it would cost.

This will obviously play a big role in peoples’ purchasing decision, so it’s important that RIM set the price right.

Our guess is that it will cost around the same as — or maybe a little less than — Apple’s iPad, which begins at $500. So something starting in the $400 to $500 range would not surprise us. And if carriers subsidize it with a 2-year 3G contract, it might be closer to $200 or $300.

It’s actually pretty smart for RIM not to announce the price now, given that it could be 4-6 months before it ships. In that time, Apple may announce a new iPad, and Android-based tablets should begin shipping.

Now that she’s a mom, Katherine Heigl is doing everything she can to live a healthier life.

Appearing on Monday night’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” the actress explained that she’s had a tough time trying to kick her bad habit of smoking, which she developed in her early 20s.

“You start once a week, maybe with cocktails with friends at a bar,” said Heigl, who stars in the upcoming “Life as We Know It.” “And then you buy your first pack during a really stressful breakup and then it’s downhill from there.”

The actress, who adopted 1 ½-year-old daughter Naleigh from South Korea last year, said she has tried a countless amount of smoking aids, including wearing the patch, chewing nicotine gum and taking the prescription medication Chantex – twice.

Bishop Eddie Long faced his congregation at New Birth Missionary Baptist today to offer answers over allegations of sexual misconduct. Accusations that Long used his position to take advantage of young men in his mission have been the subject of heated debate, anger, and even suffering of late.

Appearing before his congregation, Long’s New Birth broadcast feed was cut before the embattled pastor uttered his first words. Atlanta Journal Constitution and other reporters gathered on hand clambered to get Long’s statements out of the sanctuary from whence one of America’s most powerful religious figures hails. So far a total of 4 lawsuits have been filed alleging Long engaged in some form of sexual misconduct with parishioners.

Images of Long, rumors upon rumors, a virtual religious circus of emotion and upheaval now surrounds not only Long, his church, but similar communities around the country. “”When the mighty fall,” as the saying goes. This is the last thing American spiritual community needed.

Is Brandon Davis Dead Brandon Davis is dead. The question is: Which Brandon Davis? After all, that’s probably a fairly common name, wouldn’t you think?

So: Brandon Davis, the 31-year-old grandson of Marvin Davis, heir to a boatload of money, former dater of Mischa Barton and the guy who deftly referred to Lindsay Lohan as a “firecrotch,” (can’t say the guy was wrong there) is not dead.

Brandon Davis, the 26-year-old resident of Las Vegas who we really don’t know anything about, is dead.

Both TMZ.com and Perez Hilton reported the Hollywood socialite Davis was the one killed in a gas station explosion in Vegas last week. This is one of those rare instances TMZ is wrong and one of those daily instances Perez Hilton is wrong.

Deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased Brandon Davis.
