Angry Birds has taken the gaming world by storm, as you must have realized by now. I’m sure your relatives all play it, you probably play it, hell your dog probably plays it when you aren’t looking. The only problem about the strangely addicting animal abuse game is that you have to pay for it. Damn capitalism. There is good news on that front though, because you can get the game for your PC for free right now, according to Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

It’s fairly convoluted process, so pay attention! To get it, you have to download Intel’s AppUp Center, which is the equivalent of – you guessed it! The App Store. The catch is that you have to download it off Best Buy’s website (it’s free, no worries) and say that you are in the US. Yes, the offer is only for residents of the US of A, but fibbing works just as well, in case you aren’t. Then you have to make an account on the AppUp Center, and you’ll save yourself the annoying $4.99 fee it takes to get the game. Whew!

Already have the AppUp Center installed? Yes, you have to remove it and re-install it from Best Buy. Hey, anything to save money, right?

Google is reportedly set to make a new attempt to crack the social networking market.

Called ‘Google Circles‘, according to tech site ReadWriteWeb it will allow users to share links, photos and video mush like Twitter and Facebook, except with closer attention paid to the different social circles people have, hence the name.

“School and work, friends and family, the sacred and the profane; we’ve always been able to communicate different things to different people in different circumstances,” wrote ReadWriteWeb’s Marshall Kirkpatrick.

“Facebook, Twitter and other online social networks have collapsed all those contexts into one big bucket. We speak to our ‘friends’ all at once, no matter what we might want to say to one group of people or another. And thus we often feel less comfortable than we might saying anything at all.”

According to the article, it is being developed by Chris Messina, who has had previous social media success with Barcamp and was one of the first to start using hashtags on Twitter.

Messina has denied the story, but ReadWriteWeb is standing by its sources. The network is expected to launch in May.

It’s not the first rumour that Google will be starting a social network – previous names attached to the product include ‘Google Loop’, ‘Google Me’ and ‘Google +1′.

Google’s previous attempt at a social network, Google Buzz, was a PR disasater, revealing users’ Gmail contact lists to everyone they had ever corresponded with. Google subsequently created a fund to assist privacy education groups. Buzz still exists, but its problematic start means it hasn’t had the market penetration of its other products.

It took Microsoft a while to nail down an official date for the release of its next Web browser, but it has done just that now in setting March 14 as the official launch date of Internet Explorer 9.

The date was set to correspond to the SXSW show in Austin, Texas, where Microsoft is hosting an event on March 14. It barely fits into the company’s earlier promise to release IE9 in the first quarter of the year.

Microsoft says the new browser will go live on its servers at noon (EST) sharp on the 14th, and shortly thereafter it will try to push the download to Windows Vista and Windows 7 users.

One noteworthy thing about IE9 is that it will not run on Windows XP, which remains the most widely used form of Microsoft’s operating system.

Speaking of widely used, Internet Explorer has remained the most common Web browser, though it has lost market share to competing products like Mozilla’s Firefox and Google’s Chrome. The tough competition has forced Microsoft to stay ahead of the game and ensure its browser is as up-to-date as possible.

IE9 comes at the same time Mozilla is planning to update its browser as well, though numerous delays have caused some uncertainty as to when Firefox 4 will actually be available. It had at one point been slated for a November 2010 release.

There appears to be some trouble with Internet Explorer today – messages are popping up all over the Internet about users getting a message on their screen saying:

“Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working

“A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”

There have been some suggestions to try installing IE9, rather than using IE8, but it is unclear if this will solve your problem.

You can also try resetting Internet Explorer, by taking the following steps:

Go to Start, then Control Panel. Click on Network and Internet, then open Internet Options, and the Advanced Tab, and click Reset.

You then have to “Delete personal settings” and then click on the Reset button.

Let us know if you have been having the same problems below, and if you have any methods to fix it!
